Uniting Indigenous Wisdom, Tradition, and Sovereignty for the Healing, Harmony and Prosperity of the Human Family
This historic Declaration of Unity & Healing unites Indigenous elders, knowledge keepers, healers, and leaders from Turtle Island (i.e. North America) and beyond. Together, we pledge to protect and share our sacred knowledge, wisdom, traditions, culture and medicines, fostering harmony and understanding for the benefit of all.
Through this Declaration of Unity & Healing, we affirm the sovereignty of Indigenous traditions to guide the sharing of traditional ceremonial practices, and we make a commitment to preserve and honour sacred wisdom for future generations.
From the Four Directions:
1. We are each part of the whole, connected by the sacred circle of life.
We honour the spirits of our ancestors and their teachings, recognizing that we are all one—interwoven with each other, the land, the two legged, the four legged, the winged, the finned, and those who crawl, the plants, and the elements in a bond of sacred unity.
2. We give reverence to all of Creator’s gifts and commit to caring for the elements, water, air, fire and Mother Earth.
We recognize the sacred relationship with the natural and spirit world, embracing our responsibility as stewards of the earth to protect, nurture, and restore it for the well-being of future generations.
3. We live by the principles of Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth.
Guided by these teachings, we seek harmony and balance with all beings—human, spiritual, animal, plant, and elemental—acknowledging them as our relatives in the circle of life.
4. We honour and respect the cultural values, wisdom, traditions, and ceremonies of all Tribes and Indigenous peoples worldwide.
We join hands across nations and cultures to share our wisdom and traditions, fostering unity, understanding, and cooperation for the well-being of all humanity.
5. We commit to reconciliation, justice, and healing, acknowledging the past, re-affirming our inherent rights, while creating a better future.
By addressing historical harms and restoring dignity, we create pathways for spiritual healing, cultural revival, and sustainable self-sufficient livelihood deeply rooted in reciprocity.
6. We embrace collaboration and reciprocity between the human family.
Through partnerships grounded in mutual respect and shared values, we honour the balance of humanity and the natural world, ensuring fair and sustainable growth for all.
7. We foster and mentor intergenerational learning and leadership.
With respect for the wisdom of our elders and the potential of our youth, we commit to ensuring that teachings are shared, preserved, and carried forward to create a better future.
8. We transform our words into action.
Through shared effort and mutual respect, we work together to bring spiritual, cultural, and material well-being to all communities, especially those in need, ensuring the healing and wellness of future generations.
9. We honour the Prophecies.
We keep, honour and understand the ancient Indigenous prophecies.
10. We Protect Sacred Plant Medicines
We commit to ensuring sacred plant medicine is protected ethically, harvested (gathered) and shared in the most ethical and responsible manner with oversight of Plant Medicine Keepers.
